Rigatoni Pasta and Vodka Sauce

Hey everyone! Welcome back to another meal time with me. On tonight’s menu, rigatoni pasta with ground turkey, topped with vodka sauce. Pasta is hands down my favorite meal to make. It only takes about fifteen minutes to make and nothing makes my belly happier! (Except, of course, street tacos from back home in California😍) As you will begin to see, I like to cook meals that don’t involve too many ingredients. I think the simpler, the better. Plus, it makes going to the grocery store cheaper, which is important when you are on a budget in college! So, without further ado, let’s get cooking!

To start, make sure your meat is thawed out. You can use any meat you would like, I prefer ground turkey. I normally take it out of the freezer and set it in a bowl of hot water. The only seasonings you will need are salt and Italian seasoning. (Of course you’ll want some Parmesan cheese to throw on top once you’re finished too!)

First, fill a pot half way with water, pour some salt in it, and bring it to a boil. The salt helps the noodles not stick together so much while also giving them a little flavor.

Once your water is boiling, throw in your noodles. Stir occasionally. On this picture to the right, below, you can see what they look like when they’re done. You can cook them however you would like! I like my noodles a little softer than al dente. Al dente means that it is cooked so as to be still firm when bitten.

While your noodles are cooking, put a small pan on medium heat, and throw on the meat. Like I said, I personally love ground turkey; it’s healthier and doesn’t hurt my stomach as much as ground beef can. About half way through, throw in your Italian seasoning. Start with a few dashes of it, then you can add more if you would like.

Once your noodles are finished cooking, drain the water and add in your meat. Put the pasta sauce inside the pot with the noodles and the meat and stir it all together. The brand of the pasta sauce does not matter, however, Bertolli is by far my favorite brand. If you haven’t ever tried it before, I think you should grab one of their pasta sauces next time you are in the store! I like to grab the bowl I’m going to eat out of for dinner, then a couple extra tupper ware for meals for the next couple of days. I also chose to heat up some frozen mixed veggies to eat too!

Sprinkle on your Parmesan cheese on top of the pasta and voila! Easy as 1,2,3! I hope you guys enjoy! Leave a comment below if you try this out and let me know me what you think!
