Hi friends! This is probably the most exciting dish I have to share with you! I always crave the sausage, cheddar and egg breakfast sandwich from Starbucks but let’s be honest, who can afford one every morning? So I found a few videos on YouTube and have been making these for myself almost every morning. They take about 15 minutes total and keep me full all morning! I love drinking iced coffee or some kind of juice with this for breakfast. They also make such a good midnight snack!

Here are all the ingredients you will need to make this! I picked up some Jimmy Dean fully cooked sausage. I was using the frozen sausage patties before and that worked just fine, plus there was more in the bag versus only getting eight, however, this full cooked sausage patty was much bigger than the frozen ones! You can pick up any kind of cheese you would like, I just find it easier to get already sliced cheese.
Start by putting the sausage patty on a pan, on medium-high heat. Flip it on the other side after about 2 minutes. Also, put your muffin in the toaster. Once you start cooking your egg, you will need to pay close attention and won’t want to be distracted with the toaster.

This part is optional, however, to cook the egg in a perfect circle, you will want to find a mason jar lid or something similar. Spray the mason jar lid generously with some kind of cooking spray. This will help clean the egg off easier once you are done.

Lay the lid on the pan and crack the egg inside of it. I find it is easier to work with the lid if you have it laying on its top side. (The bottom is the part that screws onto the mason jar) You will find that the egg cooks fairly quickly so pay close attention to it. I usually flip it over once I see the outside is no longer jelly looking. The lid is VERY HOT so please be careful touching it. Using a spatula, start to place it under the egg while carefully helping move the lid with the egg onto the spatula.

This takes a ton of practice so don’t feel discouraged if its super messy the first few times! Even now that I’ve been making this for a couple months, I still mess up! Once you flip the egg over, you can remove the lid. Again, be careful as it is really hot! As you can see, I have flipped my sausage patty and its fully brown. You want both sides to look like this! The longer you leave your egg on the pan, it will be less yolky. I like my egg with a little yolk when I bite into it, but not too much because then it’s just a huge mess. Sometimes I flip it back over a second time to cook it a little more on the other side! You can tell it’s still yolky by lightly poking at the center; if it jiggles, it is still yolky, however, if it is kind of hard, then you know you have cooked it fully.
Next, take your muffin out of the toaster and butter it. Turn the stove off and remove the egg and the sausage from the pan and place them on your plate. Next, we melt the cheese.

Hold one corner of the cheese slice on the pan. It will begin to bubble in about 5 seconds. After it bubbles, flip it over on the other side for another 5 seconds. Once it’s melted, place the cheese on the bottom muffin. Next I put the sausage, then the egg, and then the top muffin.

And that is how I make my own Starbucks breakfast from home! It is sooo good, and such an impressive breakfast to make for friends or family! I promise, after making this a couple times, you will become a pro! I hope you guys give this a try and up your breakfast game! Comment and let me know what you think or if you tried making it! Hope you’re all staying safe, healthy, and most importantly, HUNGRY!
